Aims and Scope

The Open Infectious Diseases Journal is an Open Access online journal, which publishes both original full-length and short research articles in all important areas of infectious diseases. It covers clinical, preclinical and experimental infectious diseases. research, discovery, development, and use of infectious disease therapies and interventions, including bacterial and fungal infections, viral infections (including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis), parasitological diseases, tuberculosis and other mycobacterial diseases. Articles on vaccines and devices, epidemiology, clinical diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases, drug-resistance, chronic infections, and tropical, emergent, pediatric, dermal and sexually-transmitted infectious diseases are also accepted.


The Open Infectious Diseases Journal, a peer-reviewed journal, is an important and reliable source of current information on important developments in the field. The emphasis will be on publishing quality papers rapidly and making them freely available to researchers worldwide.

Brief Biography

Dr. Giuseppe Murdaca, M.D. (1993), Ph.D. (2003), is currently Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, in the Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties, at University of Genova, Italy. His research interests involve Immunodeficiency, Autoimmunity, Neuro-endocrino-immunology, Pharmacogenomics, and Vaccine and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Murdaca has authored/co-authored over 90 article publications in various journals, having a significant number of total citations, i.e. more than 1,870. He has membership in Italian Society of Immunology, Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Italian Society of Internal Medicine, and Italian Society of Experimental Biology. Furthermore, he is Editor-in-Chief of several other journals, i.e. Edorium Journal of Medicine, Autoimmune Diseases and Therapeutic Approaches: Open Access, Journal of Immunization, etc.
